Geminids Meteor Showers, Winter Solstice and other Experiences This is a spectacular time of year here in the Northwest. On the 13th of December I heard that the Geminids Meteor Showers the most spectacular of this year would be viewable here where I live. I went out to see them for a few minutes at 11:59 and spotted a shooting star. I was feeling blessed to see this sign falling from the sky. Unlike most showers the Geomids is associated with an astroid and not a comet. The dogs and I enjoyed the crisp winter air and the crescent moon in the last minute of 12-13 and I set my intention in the first minute of 12-14 to nurture my creative aspects. The Geminids Meteor Shower is named after the Gemini Constellation. This year it was easily seen because there was both a crescent moon so the sky was dark and a clear sky in Western Washington. This phenomena is present in the skies from all parts of Ghaia, our mother earth. This solstice was lovely here and cause for celebration. Of course the Solstice is the time of year where the night is the longest and the day is the shortest. After Winter Solstice the days grow longer as the nights grow shorter. I am a lover of long days and short nights so this time of year brings me joy and hope for the seasons to come. I love Ghaia and this is the time that I celebrate the New Year and set my intentions for what lies ahead. It is a particularly spiritual time where one may find it easier to connect with those who have crossed over. I find that I am able to remember and connect more easily with my dreams in the winter. I recently was a passenger on an airplane and as we came closer to landing in Seattle I had a birds’eye view of the area’s mountain ranges which are covered in gorgeous blankets of the whitest snow. I am especially mindful of my alter in the winter. I give thanks for having a warm house to live in. The cold season is harder for those without homes and the number of deaths due to the weather is the highest it has been in ten years (in Western WA) Its a good time to build fires and play music.. A great time for cooking meals and sharing them with friends and family. For me this is a season to share with people who have not. This is an introspective season.I look at many of the mammals hybernating. Its a great time to communicate with guides and angels, a wonderful time for meditation and journeying. For me winter is a season where I find myself listening to live music while getting together with friends. Last night I went to the symphoney featuring Bethoven and even though I am not a classical music buff I found myself enjoying the energy of the musicians , singers and the audience.
