Hey everyone. Today I want to share with you how connecting with nature helped me find inner peace and balance. We all had some ups and downs and moments when we went through depression or anxiety, faced some stress or lost our muse.
But what do we do to escape the killing routine? We run to our phones and computers. The virtual world! But does it make us feel better? Not really.
We are so immersed in an imaginary world to the point that we forgot about the real world.
I’m not talking about the world of materials. I’m talking about nature. It’s around us but we ignore it. I personally have ignored it for so long and I regret that!
The first time I have tried to connect with nature was magical. The second time was even more special. In fact, every time is different and unique.
I find a great relief taking some time off, even if it’s for few hours. I would disconnect myself by turning my phone off, trying to take a break from everything that bothers me.
I would go to a place where nature speaks to me. I can hear the sea touching the air and the waves’ tickling the sea. I can hear the birds tweeting and singing to each other. I can hear the leaves of trees dancing. As the matter of fact, I can listen to everything, not hear. Because everyone can hear sounds but not everyone is able to listen. You and I know that is special.
But not only can I listen, I can also smell..touch. I can smell the breeze, the animals, the plants; I can feel the fresh air. I can sense every move of every element. Yes I may seem like Wordsworth but trust me, connecting with nature is magical. And for a while it feels like I’m not as heavy as before, I start to feel that I’m so light and that my problems aren’t so heavy anymore.
Have you ever seen daffodils? Go out! Explore that beautiful view! Enjoy the flowers movement together as a unit! Try to camp with your friends and you’ll see how you will learn to be united together, whether to cook, to set fire and dance or sing; nature is rhythmic! Its unity and sounds have rhythm as well as rhyme. Nature speaks to us. It sings to us. But not everyone is able to listen because the majority of us forgot it even existed. We are so tired and unable to see the beauty around us.
Even if you live in an apartment and you can’t go out for some reasons I advise you to be creative in your balcony and make it a stress free area by bringing some plants and some flowers, make it colorful and joyful, you can enjoy a morning cup of tea or coffee in your own small garden.
Please feel free to share your stories about healing with nature J
