Fall Equinox

It’s common knowledge the days are longer than nights in summer, and that in winter, the days are shorter. However, this is not quite true during some parts of the year: during equinoxes.

Equinox is a point in the year when daytime and nighttime are exactly the same lengths, 12 hours each. Equinoxes occur twice a year, usually on March 20 and Sept. 22, when the Earth is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun.   How can we use the time of Equinox to touch the deeper aspects of ourselves? Well, look at it like this, the balance between light and dark reminds us to pay attention and to accept our own dualities and our strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, loves and hates. Once we can accept the duality within us, it becomes easier to accept the duality in the external world.

There is never dark without the light, the two are always there, whether we are aware of it or not. The Autumn Equinox reminds us to stop playing the blame game and begin to take personal responsibility for our own actions. This way you are able to recognize the part you are playing in your own personal drama and see why you have attracted it into your life.
